An Evening In Paradise

I can hear the warm mountain rain falling to puddles on the ground outside my open door and a peacock calling in the distance. Crickets humming and birds chirping as they put themselves to sleep. My pups are sprawled out on the cool tile at my feet - they're damp from playing in the mist. There's an unsteady breeze fluttering through the house accompanied by the occasional gust that rattles the open windows and tassels my hair. The lights of the city encompass the skyline after the brilliant sun has cooled and the ocean becomes a part of the dark night sky.

I feel lucky in this moment.

But, to finish this post off with a nice polish, I just took a sip of my water and there was a little flying bug drowning in it. The bugs on this island are out of control!
